your thesis is so wonderful and full of color :]! I looove it. I watch it every now and then to admire its awesomenesss! I have a question, that you've probably been asked billions of times.. okay so, im assuming you used surface shaders, but how did you manage to get the contact shadow? i've been trying to do that foreeever but i can't seem to figure it out! :( anyway, awesome as always! thanks!

hi Gabby! Thanks for the kind words :) Yes, it is primarily surface shaders and the contact shadows are renderman env light occlusion passes. The falloff has been tightened allot so that as soon as the feet leave contact with the ground the shadow disappears. I rendered it out as a separate pass and comped it in AE. I did this with render layers, I don't know if they still have it disabled on the farm, but it didn't matter much to me, I rendered the whole theses locally using batch renders. There are allot of little details and numbers to all this to make it work right, if you need any more info feel free to e-mail me. :) Hope that answers your question!
